AND JOHN ANIYIKAYE LAID DOWN HIS SWORD
John Aniyikaye intelligent, dynamic, zealous, sound in faith, effective, resilience, godly and ever energetic and always on the move for God. He was a lover of God and man. He was a soldier of Christ in all its senses. He came unto Christ some decades ago. He would not look back.
John Aniyikaye with his wife joined our ministry: Christ for All Peoples Ministry . His wife Elizabeth Bola Aniyikaye she is gentle to the core. Both were uncommonly committed to the faith of Jesus Christ. Both of them were regular in our weekly Bible studies and as well as weekly program. I personally had respect for the wife in this area. This were the days when we were in the ministry and not church denomination.
They chose Redeemed Christian Church of God as there denominational church. With their background of intensive Bible study in Christ for All People’s Ministry, it was not difficult for them to become a branch pastor in Redeemed Christian Church of God. I later learnt that John was close to Pastor Enoch Adeboye.
John finally established his own church denomination with the name: THE CONFIDENT OF THE CHURCH ASSEMBLY. What a wonderful name describing Jesus Christ the Captain of our salvation.
The last time I met John and wife was over two decades ago as far as my memory can carry me. He invited me to come and preached in his branch of Redeemed Christian Church of God where he was a pastor.
On the first of January 2025, I received a phone call which turned out to be from John Aniyikaye. He introduced himself, I asked him is that Yahaya he promptly said yes. it was a happy relinked after over two decades, we talked, and we prayed together in a span of 13 minutes 56 seconds.
From this point, let Mrs. Elizabeth Bola Aniyikaye take up the story. The wife said the Sunday following my conversation with John, John spoke eloquently of his encounter with me. She said John mounted the pulpit with great excitement and unusual happiness. After many years he connected with a man of God ( that is me). His happiness on that day at the pulpit must have been highly noticeable.
On Wednesday 22 January 2025, I made an internet post on my birthday. John promptly responded to the post. I reproduce below un-edited John’s response to my post.

It was therefore rudely shocking to know that this soldier of Christ had laid down his sword to return to glory three days after his post. John was an amazing man. Both John (then Yahaya), and his wife (then Mulikat) turned from Muslim background to Christ.
Saints of God prayed for his return to the earth, then came a revelation where John told one of them that when he got to glory he was told he had the option to return as they were calling him from earth, John said he opted to remain there in heaven. Of course, no one will get to heaven and wants to return to earth for anything. My over 50 years in the work of God testifies to this.
Mummy Aniyikaye and the children, siblings and the church of God, the brethren and all family members, let us take solace that the gallant soldier has returned home peacefully and successfully. We must not weep as other without hope do. Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright for the end of that man is peace ( Psalm 37:37)
